Hasid HABAda is appointed Vice President at Microsoft
Kesselman became one of the first orthodox employees at Microsoft Israel and one of the leaders in the integration of Orthodox into the ranks of the technology giant.
Lyubavitsky Hasid r. Yitzhak Kesselman, who lives in Crown Heights and is the highest-ranking Orthodox employee at Microsoft, was promoted to the company's corporate vice president of messaging and real-time analytical platform.
Kesselman specializes in corporate software and leads the "real-time data analytics" sector at Microsoft with a management product called Fabric. This software allows even non-technical employees to extract meaningful information from huge data sets. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella emphasized the importance of the product at the company's conference in May, calling it a tool that will "nourish the next generation of artificial intelligence services".
Rav Kesselman wrote on LinkedIn about his promotion: "It is an incredible honor for me to take on the new role of corporate vice president of messaging and real-time analytics. It's amazing to think that our team got together less than two years ago, considering everything we've been able to achieve so far. It's a great honor to work alongside such a talented group."
Two years ago, Kesselman said in an interview with the Globes newspaper: "I have never seen any contradiction between work and faith. We have a goal - to do good in this world. Every time we create technologies that really help people, I am filled with a sense of meaning."
The 39-year-old father of five children was born in Riga (Latvia) in a secular family and came to Israel with his parents at the age of 6. He grew up in Ramla and says that at an early age he became interested in computers and software in elementary school. At high school in Tel Aviv, he became religious, after which he entered the Atuda pre-army academic program. "In the mornings I studied calculations and data structure at Tel Aviv University, and in the evenings - Talmud and Hasidism in Yeshiva." After receiving a bachelor's degree in computer science, he served as an officer in the computing unit of the IDF Intelligence Corps.
Kesselman became one of the first orthodox employees at the Microsoft branch in Israel and one of the leaders in the integration of the Orthodox into the ranks of the technology giant. He joined Microsoft ten years ago and currently manages a division of 400 employees around the world. At the beginning of his career, he was a development director at Retalix (a retail data processing company), where he led a fairly large team. In 2013, he joined Microsoft as a product manager. He left Microsoft in 2021 to become the director of monitoring at Google, and in May 2023 he returned to Microsoft and took the position of vice president.
